Takes A good Agent
Dallas General liability Insurance, Contractors: WE as a group work with contractors ALL OVER Texas of which the demographic is something like this: Small contractor that has some priorities that normally ring true for each. Fast: in the real world (where the small contractor lives) speed means something, i.e. this thing that is sweeping the contractors world called COI (Certificate of Insurance) is right on the edge of pandemic. That is my way of saying this “Certificate” thing is getting out of hand. There are a lot of good agents here in Texas…..a lot. Yet it may not be the same person that sold you your homeowners coverage. So, today let’s take a quick look at Dallas General Liability Certificates.
A lot of Good Agents
There is a difference between NFL Quarter backs, NASCAR drivers and Major League Baseball. There is a difference between agents just like everything else. There are a lot of good agents that is NOT the problem the problem can be if you don’t get one of the good ones. There is not as much room for error as maybe there was once upon a time. The difference between class codes may be a loom as a large Problem if you go outside of your work: Class Codes are important and understanding class codes are very important. There are different class codes for
- Roofing
- Concrete
- Painting
- Plumbing
- Framing
There are a lot of class codes just like there are a lot of different jobs through out the landscape of construction. In other words for every job there can be a different code: now some codes are a lot broader than others: This is where you might want to talk to an agent and go over some of the class codes exposures.
Class Codes
There is a code that tells the insurance carrier of your Dallas General Liability Insurance what you are doing under your coverage, in other words the person that repairs foundations is not the same code of a person that works as a painter and they don’t pay the same. Most companies see foundation repair as a larger risk in Texas (Think Earth Quakes) Now the spirit of this blog is risk and exposure: meaning being covered for what you do. With this in mind you do not want to be roofing a house and have a claim when you purchased Liability insurance for painting. There is not a person that I know of wants to hear the swords Claim Denied, you (your company) was not covered for this risk that can be a very bad day.
Back to the Agent at large
Now, there are a lot of good agents here in our GREAT state of TEXAS: you may consider doing a little homework: Now, with that said here is a couple of clues of what you might consider. TDI Texas department of Insurance: You can look up an agent on their web-site: Go to “Agent Look up” for some reason the agent you are working with does not have a listing…….well then you and said agent have a lot to talk about. There is a part two to this blog: and we will have this up within 24 Hours.
