There is a lot to say and we will not have every ting hammered out in one post but we can get stated on Dallas contractors insurance general liability and subcontractors.
Contractors Insurance Dallas
Do, you know what codes are on your current policy? As an example are you covered if a subcontractor has a claim? Can you be named in a law suit. There will be a lot of questions here so maybe we should get our thinking caps out. Now, understanding what is on your policy as far as codes are concerned may be a good idea, such as do you have the codes for ….
- Roofing
- Concrete
- Handyman
- Carpentry
- Paving
There are a of codes and a lot of things to go over here so let’s start with this. What happens if you have insurance and your subcontractor has a claim? Are you covered? What will be the difference if the subcontractor has a claim and you are not listed as an addition insured with a waiver of subrogation. These are things that need to be addressed and will start with the first one first on your Dallas contractors insurance general liability.
What is not
I can’t tell you or anyone how a claim will be processed or how an adjuster will pay or not pay a claim, although if you don’t have a code on your general liability as an example let’s say you hire a concrete contractor and there is a claim, could there be a problem when it comes time to file a claim? Well maybe the rule of better safe than sorry would apply here.
Example
When you have a roof repaired or replace a roof for one of your clients then maybe you want to ask the person that sold you your policy what happens in case of a claim? Is roofing is covered on your current policy? If the answer is no then maybe…..just maybe you might want to ask what happens if you have a claim on a roofing job and what happens if the claim is denied?
Subcontractors
Now, we go over subcontractors a lot here at this website, because what you don’t know might end up being important if something goes wrong. We will be going over subcontracting in Tuesday’s blog post.
