What is covered?

Dallas Contractors Insurance, Dallas General Contractors Builders General Liability.

Dallas Contractors Insurance: General liability , hello Dallas here we are on the halfway mark of this last week of March and we all know how incredibly bad the weather was just three weeks ago and look at us now? Right here in Dallas (meaning Dallas/Fort Worth – North Texas) this is where we/I have lived and worked in the insurance industry for decades. We understand that some guys are new and need an understanding of what general liability does do in maybe stop some of the confusion on what it does not do. Let’s go over a few that it does and it does not’s for two days Dallas contractors insurance, general liability insurance post:

The idea

I can remember this quite well, and have posted on this before; the first time the coverage of general liability was explained to me this is the sentence that was used – “this coverage is liability to a third-party”….Really? Although that may be a true statement the idea behind it should be a little more in the layman’s terms column. Things that may not be covered are:

  • Craftsman Ship
  • Injury to employee
  • Injury to subcontractor
  • commercial auto
  • What you are holding

Now, let his new a tad of explaining – if your craftsmanship is not good (quality of work) – that is not going to be covered: this is a generic statement, there are policies that have some craftsmanship coverage in them get normally it is not covered. And the limit as far as I have seen is small on the craftsmanship coverage. There is more on:…

Dallas General Liability Contractors Insurance -3-2Oh! Yes…The employee that is hurt on the job is – not – covered. If you have an employee that is injured on the job that is Villa be covered under your workers compensation. Again I’m not saying there’s no plan out there in the insurance universe that doesn’t have bodily injury for employees I’m just saying it’s not stereo typically true. We are not trying to be ambivalent here or wishy-washy whatsoever is just new policies come out and they are different than what we are used to and that is working at speed of insurance and that is pretty fast.

You know this

Now, you must understand that in general they are going to be different coverages for different exposures, as an example: if you were to have an accident in your personal auto you would not apply the claim to the or to your homeowners insurance – if you had an grease fire in your kitchen and the risk $30,000 damage you would not try and apply that to your personal auto policy. That is my way of saying this morning that you have an understanding there are different coverage’s for different exposures. Now this is a four part explanation of what is and what is not covered and some of the risk. But that’s going to get us started some of the things that are not covered and some of the things that you would probably think are covered that are not: Again if you will check back with us tomorrow Thursday will have some more explaining.
